Spaces – Tile Inspiration Gallery

The tile inspiration galleries below are a collection of Mediterranean Tile’s recent work. Each tile inspiration gallery features beautifully designed projects for our many wonderful New Jersey clients over the past few years.

Each inspirational tile space is categorized by the room in the house that contained our products. The largest tile inspiration gallery is the bathroom. Historically the bathroom has contained more tile and natural stone than any other room in the home. The rooms vary in size, purpose, lighting and so much more that no two rooms, even featuring the same raw tile, ever look alike.

The kitchen is the second most popular room to showcase tile and natural stone in the rooms layout. As cabinetry in general commands the most attention in a kitchen, the backsplash, flooring and countertop are the most popular applications to utilize our tiles and natural stone slabs.

As times and styles have changed over the years, you see tiles and natural stone finishings appearing in other rooms within the home more often. The entry foyer, mud room, laundry room, basement, gym, wine cellar and family room are all spaces within the home that are utilizing our tile and natural stone products on a regular basis in the homes interior. Lastly, outdoor uses are on the rise.

Mediterranean Tile is located in the Northern New Jersey. The cold weather limits the surfaces used outside to the few that can handle drastic temperature changes. With outdoor kitchens becoming more popular, stone countertops are on an upswing in New York and New Jersey.

A bathroom renovation isn’t complete without choosing new bathroom tile for your shower and tub surround. Today’s shower tile options aren’t limited to simple glazed tiles. Our bathroom tile ideas include many materials, sizes, and finishes to add personality to your tub and shower surround, as well as coordinate them with the rest of your bathroom.

Try incorporating mosaic, natural stone, or large format tiles. Choosing different materials will allow you to add your own personal twist to a simple and traditional bathroom style. Marble tile is available in a wide range of shades and natural veining patterns, and can give your bathroom a modern and sophisticated look. Consider going with a bold tile to make a design statement. To complete the design, you may want to consider installing frameless glass shower doors to enhance the sophisticated, hotel-inspired look.

Glass tile can help you create bold focal points throughout your bathroom. From small, transparent mosaics to larger, opaque, shimmery tiles, there is an option for every application. Consider adding a border or framing your shower shelving with glass mosaic tile. Further, multicolored mosaic tile patterns can provide textural and visual interest to any area of your bathroom. You can also try trimming your shower surround with pebble tiles, which come in an uncommon shape, to add an edgy, one-of-a-kind look to your bathroom.

Outdoors

Whether poolside patio needs a bit of elegance, outdoor tile is the perfect material to enhance your patio and backyard. Here are several outdoor tile ideas to consider when it comes time to choose tile for your next outdoor tile design project.

Natural materials such as quartzite, slate, and limestone look great in their native, outdoor environment, which makes perfect sense. Choosing natural outdoor tile will authenticate your space and give your guests the feeling of an outdoor wonderland. Put your design skills to the test by matching the color of the tile you choose with complementary pieces within your landscaping or home’s exterior features.

Natural Quartzite is a great option for pool decks—especially for homeowners who have installed pools with boulders, cascading waterfalls, and other natural elements. Its multicolored look is not only appealing to the eye, but it’s functional and stylish. Take a close look at where you want to lay your new outdoor tile.

Is it sunny during the day and well-lit at night? Or is it in a shady part of your yard that tends to be dark at nighttime? If it’s the latter, you can choose light-colored tile to help brighten up the space. Opting for white- or cream-colored porcelain tile is a great way to pull this off. Alternatively, choosing darker tile in an earthy tone is a perfect option for well-lit areas. Do you love the look of hardwood but want the long-lasting qualities of porcelain? Wood-look tile offers the best of both worlds.

Visually, it features the charming natural beauty, unique texture, and rustic charm of wood. However, it also features the same properties as porcelain that help it stand up to moisture, which is critical in an outdoor space. With proper installation and care, your wood-look tiles can stand the test of time. Consider the above factors when choosing an outdoor tile for your projects, as each is crucial to pulling off the design of your dreams.

Kitchens

Thinking of remodeling your kitchen? Our modern kitchen tile ideas will inspire your next project. Our kitchen tile gallery features Mediterranean Tileprojects displaying the latest kitchen tile trends.

Nowadays interior designers show fantastic kitchen tile ideas which set nice accents in the kitchen space and are both beautiful and functional. Backsplash tiles are widely preferred for the easy maintenance and long life. Moreover, the design options are so many, that you may opt for various kitchen backsplash tiles and use various materials.

While searching for interesting and original kitchen backsplash tiles ideas, you need to think of the overall design of your kitchen, as well as the color palette. White kitchen cabinets give a lot of room for creative and colorful backsplash tile combinations. Colorful cabinets need more monochromatic tile designs for the country house style kitchen designs. Most widely used tile materials for modern kitchen designs are porcelain, ceramic, marble, granite, natural stone, glass, metal or stainless steel. Backsplash and floor tiles from natural stone fit perfectly with traditional and country style kitchens. The variety of natural stone colors and textures is enormous. The choices could be granite, marble, slate, sandstone, travertine or why not river stones?

A more recent design trend is the glass tile backsplash. Glass panels are usually installed between the cabinets and countertops. Glass is easy to clean and scratch resistant. Kitchen glass tiles come in clear, pearlescent and opaque varieties. Shiny metal backsplash tiles complement Urban Chic style and modern kitchens.
