Opulent Short Hills Home

The homeowner is a professional chef and the kitchen reflects that. The cream marble subway tiles have a “time-worn” finish which adds subtle shadows and softness to the clean lines of the cabinets.

The backsplash contrasts dramatically with the honed Black Absolute granite countertop that is used on the perimeter. The showstopper is the island, which is polished Calacatta marble.

The polished marble floor in the Master Bathroom is sophisticated but the penny round shape from New Ravenna reminds us not to take life too seriously.

Also in the Master Bathroom, the stained-glass subway tiles on the shower walls glow like the inside of a seashell and were provided by Alysedwards.

This bathroom was created for a boy with a lot of personality and the tile reflects that. The dark porcelain on the floor and anchoring the shower walls is edgy and modern and balances out the gorgeous teal Oceanside glass mosaic above.

The small stone herringbone mosaic from Artistic Tile frames the fireplace and makes a sweet focal point in the master bedroom.

The basement is a nod to the 50’s with its retro black and white porcelain floor. It’s virtually stain proof which comes in handy for the inevitable party spills that are sure to occur.
